OPPONENTS WANTED
(Last Updated 7/4/10)
WHERE:
-
OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS: I don't like to play at home.
I like to play in public places like game shops and gaming clubs. Simply
put, it is more fun. The best place to play in this area is:
Table Top Games
6840 West 105th Street
Overland Park, KS
WHEN:
I am retired, so I am available almost anytime,
except:
-
Sun until 1 pm
-
Thur after 5 pm
Currently, I am attending:
-
Thursday 6 pm onward - This is boardgame night for
Eurogames and Ameritrash. (I can play on Thursday night in July and August}
-
Sunday 1 pm starting every other Sunday in September
at Table Top Games - This is for wargames, only.
WHAT:
Wargame Terms:
-
Strategic (Usually a whole war or theater and usually
involves economics, also. Very seldom involves ranged combat.))
-
Operational (Usually a single campaign with reinforcements/replacements
in lieu of economics. Very seldom any ranged combat)
-
Tactical (Usually a single battle with reinforcements,
only. Often includes ranged combat.)
-
CDG - Card Driven Game (Paths of Glory)
-
WBG - Wooden Blocks Game
I am a "grognard," a long-time,
old-style game player. I really like the old Avalon Hill games. I am willing
to play many more, but the games I have are: (Game company is in parenthesis.)
I used to have a couple hundred more games and I am willing to play many
of them if you have a copy.
Check my profile (huskerdude)
at Boardgamegeek.com to see which Eurogames/Ameritrash games I like to
play.
I also would like to learn
the newer CDG's and WBG's. So, if you are up for a game of Paths of Glory
or Europe Engulfed.
